Fr. Stanislaw Kuca was born in Poland on November 14, 1964, entered the Archdiocese of Wroclaw Seminary in 1984, and was ordained a priest in 1991. He worked there for 12 years. Then he came to know that Archdiocese of Chicago needed Polish speaking priests to minister to Polonia (a word used to describe the Polish speaking community of Chicago). Cardinal Francis George asked the Polish Bishops for help. So he decided to come to Chicago.
In September of 2003, he arrived in Chicago and started his ministry as the Associate Pastor at Holy Innocents Parish in the city. Served there for three years during which time he experienced the
Church of Chicago as a welcoming and friendly place. So he decided to apply for incardination. In September 2006, he started the process of incardination, which has two probationary phases. The first phase of two years was spent at St. Andrew Parish in Chicago and the next two years were spent in serving the people at St. Francis Xavier Parish, La Grange. His final evaluation followed by the incardination took place in the spring of 2010.
His first assignment as the priest of Chicago was to St. Elizabeth Seton in Orland Park as the associate pastor. This was in May of 2010. As he came to the final year of his assignment there, he decided to apply for a Pastorate and he was appointed as Pastor of St. Bernardine, Forest Park. It means that on June 30, he will end his ministry at St. Elizabeth Seton and on July 1, he will start as the Pastor of St. Bernardine.
He says he is excited and optimistic about his ministry here and looks to the future with hope that he will continue to grow in his ministry and serve well as the Pastor of St. Bernardine. He asks for your prayers as he prays for all of you.
A cordial welcome to our new pastor Fr. Stanislaw Kuca
