Pastor’s Desk: August 11 19th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear Parishioners,

Fr. Stanislaw Kuca

Fr. Stanislaw Kuca

In whom do you trust? Abraham and Sarah were an elderly, childless couple living in a foreign land, but Abraham trusted in God’s promise that one day he would have descendants “as numerous as the stars.” How could he believe this? Hebrews says it was because “the one who had made the promise was trustworthy.” In a challenging and uncertain world, let us put our trust in our loving God.

This coming Thursday, August 15th we celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This is a holy day of obligation. Masses will be celebrated in the church at 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. All are welcome.

Last weekend we collected $1,559 for the mission of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart in Africa.  They appreciate your generosity.

Big thanks to representatives of RCIA, Religious Education and SPRED for writing some information about them during my vacation.

God bless you,

Fr. Stan
