Pastor’s Desk: August 25 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear Parishioners,

Fr. Stanislaw Kuca

Fr. Stanislaw Kuca

We gather together today in our own local communities, while millions of others gather together in their communities all over the world. When Isaiah wrote that the Lord comes to “gather nations of every language,” could he have imagined over a billion believers not even conceived of by those of his place and time? Let us celebrate that hundreds of years and thousands of miles away, we are welcomed just as people in Isaiah’s or Jesus’ time.

Next weekend at all masses a member of our St. Vincent de Paul Society will speak to us about their mission.

 God bless you,

  Fr. Stan

During the absence of the pastor, some of our parish groups wish to share their activities with us in his column.  This week we welcome our RCIA Director.

St. Bernardine is asking if anyone is interested in joining the Catholic Church and participating in classes from September 2019 through Pentecost  (May 2020). There are four stages within the process that focuses on faith sharing, prayer and learning about the Catholic faith.

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) is for any adult 18+ and out of high school who would like to be baptized Catholic or become a Catholic after having been baptized in another Christian tradition.  It is also for those baptized Catholic adults needing to complete the sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation.

We are also looking for parish sponsors who would walk with the candidates on their journey throughout the year.

If you or someone you know is interested in joining RCIA either as a candidate or sponsor, please contact Fr. Stan.  Depending on the response, we will discern the outcome. Thank you and keep us in prayer.
