Before he was arrested, but knowing what was going to happen, Jesus spoke with his disciples and promised them that the Father would send an Advocate, the Holy Spirit, to be with them always. Jesus charged his disciples to go out to all nations, baptizing, proclaiming the Gospel, receiving power from on high. In today’s first reading, the disciples receive that power. Immediately, they can speak in tongues. Everyone gathered in the city can understand them. The author of Acts, names sixteen cities, regions, and cultures to give the idea that every nation on earth was represented. With the Holy Spirit, the disciples could now communicate with people of all nations and therefore could carry out Jesus’ mission.
Fearon Hall will soon be ready to use, and it gives us an opportunity to gather together and celebrate its re-opening. The party will be organized on Saturday, June 29th in the same formula we usually celebrate St. Bernardine Day. The Big Cash Raffle is back as well! Tickets are available for purchase ($20.00 each or 3 for $50.00), with a grand prize of $2,500.00! Raffle tickets can be purchased in the vestibule after all masses. Please see the bulletin for more details.
As you are reading this text Fearon Hall has a new floor. It looks just great! To finish the project some cosmetic work needs to be done. It will be ready for re-opening on June 29th. So exciting!

As you know I’m organizing a pilgrimage to Italy October 7th – 17th. To date, 27 participants are enrolled. To keep the cost as low as advertised I need 4 – 5 more participants. It’s time to make a decision. I still hope that we will succeed and have an excellent pilgrimage which will strengthen our faith and give us an opportunity to visit breathtaking places.
This year we have again an opportunity to make some money by working on Northerly Island. Volunteers are needed on the following dates:
