Following through the readings today is the image of water. In the desert, the Lord provided water to the Israelites. Saint Paul describes the love of God being poured out into our hearts. In the Gospel, Jesus meets a Samaritan woman at the well and offers her water to eternal life. As we celebrate the Third Sunday of Lent, let us recall the thirst-quenching, life giving water of our own baptism.
Every Friday during the Lent we will gather in the Church for the Stations of the Cross. Please find time and join me in this beautiful devotion. Stations of the Cross will be celebrated at 7:00 p.m.
Soup For The Soul will take place on Thursday (3/8) and Tuesdays (3/13 and 3/20) at 7:00 p.m. in Fearon Hall. Excellent speakers are invited not to mention tasty soups. Please join me in this special event.
Our Lenten Reconciliation Service will be on Wednesday, March 21st.
Again, this year we will have a bus trip to visit seven churches on Holy Thursday, after Mass. While we are still compiling the list of the churches, there will be a sign-up sheet in the vestibule of the church the weekend of March 11th. If you are interested, please sign up as soon as possible, as the bus can only accommodate 46 people.
May God’s blessings for this Lent help us to ask our Lord to uncover and heal all that is weak and sinful in the way we live.
