“All things are possible for God.” Jesus follows a series of challenging pronouncements with this line – some of the most consoling words that he utters in the Gospels. As we celebrate Mass today, recall the times that you have had to rely on God because you didn’t know if you could manage on your own. For us human beings on our own, it may be impossible, but for God, all things are possible.
Last Sunday in Holy Name Cathedral, Bishop Ronald Hicks presided at the Cristifideles Award Ceremony. Our parishioner Carol Good was recognized and awarded. Congratulations Carol! We really appreciate your efforts in keeping our grounds beautiful.
The Religious Ed Pancake Breakfast is scheduled for October 28th, and our 30th Annual Game Day is set for November 11th. We have a special Game Day ticket price for our parishioners – $15.00. You can buy tickets at the door after every mass or in the parish office.
This year we are blessed by having two parishioners going through the RCIA program. Jessica Babcock and Sarah Brooker are looking for communion with the Catholic Church. Please keep them and our RCIA in your prayers.
According to Archdiocesan policies, priests are evaluated by parishioners every 5 years. This time I ask you to participate in my evaluation. It will help me to see and reflect on my ministry and perhaps improve areas where you expect me to be better. In the Chimes you will find instructions how to do it on-line. For those who do not have easy access to internet, printed evaluation forms are available at the exits. Please fill it out and return it in a week. Thank all of you for your cooperation.
Some disturbing news to report. On Sunday, September 30th after the 10:30 mass, our Sunday collection bags went missing. All procedures were followed, as is usual regarding the collection process. Sometime between the end of our regular mass and the Pet Blessing, the bags disappeared. Please be advised that if you wrote a check and deposited it into the collection basket during the 10:30 mass, we did not receive it. I am very sorry for any trouble this may have caused.
Boys and girls 4th grade and older who wish to be trained to be altar servers, please call the Rectory.
