The days are growing shorter, and the weather is getting cooler. Soon it will be time for the harvest. As disciples of the Lord, we are called to assist in a special harvest. We hear Paul call Timothy today to “pursue righteousness, devotion, faith, love, patience, and gentleness.” Wise words for us as well. As we celebrate the Eucharist today, let us pursue these virtues so that what we harvest will be good and holy.
Tomorrow at 7:00 P.M. we will have the opportunity to spend an hour in front of the Blessed Sacrament. Holy Hour was moved to tomorrow due to the pilgrimage to Italy which will start October 7th.
On Thursday I will visit the sick who want to see me monthly and receive Communion. If you know anybody who would like to be visited by me, please encourage this person to call the rectory.
On October 4th we commemorate St. Francis of Assisi. The traditional blessing of animals will be next Sunday, October 6th at noon. I would love to see you and your pets at the parking lot for a blessing.
Last weekend a second collection was taken for Seminarian Appeal. We collected $1,480.06. Thank you for your generosity.
Summer is over. Let us ask God for good weather to enjoy the beauty of the Fall.
God bless you,
